G Team: New starters and updates
Greenwood Choice £1 Million Challenge
As you may have already heard. This year our trade sales centre, Greenwood Choice, has launched it’s new sales initiative, the £1 Million Challenge. The ultimate goal is to reach £1 million in sales through Greenwood Choice by the end of the calendar year. With silver and bronze targets of £900,000 and £800,000 respectively. So far, the Greenwood Choice team have already managed to reach a year to date figure of £282,360, which is impressive considering the challenging sales period in which we find ourselves. Hitting £1 million by the end of the year will be a challenge, but one that the team are embracing. Greenwood Choice Manager, Kevin Merritt, said “we are receiving plenty of enquiries and myself and Kasia will try to get every sale we can to get closer to the million”
Q1 EPM bonus awarded!
The EPM success game is our company wide bonus scheme based on open book management, and rewards the G team through a profit-sharing incentive. This means that if the G Team can help to reduce every cost on the nursery and help us to maximise every profit, then we all benefit if we hit our target at the end of the quarter. Quite literally, Every Plant Matters! We were absolutely thrilled to be able to share with the team that we beat our Q1 EBIT target by 3%, resulting in the entire G Team getting a bonus payout. Congratulations to the entire team for an incredible first quarter of the year, and let’s keep pushing throughout the rest of 2024.
Greenwood acquires new 160 acre nursery site
We’re delighted to announce that we have secured the lease Pigeon House Farm in Walberton, West Sussex. After a lengthy bidding process, Greenwood were chosen as the preferred bidders for the location, and signed the lease officially on x May. The site, which is only a few minutes’ drive away from our Fresh Acres HQ, will help to centralise much of our growing, making for an even more streamlined operation. The site will feature dedicated space to growing bare root whips, as well as an all new innovative potting area, allowing us to pot more plants per day than ever before! We’re incredibly excited to see what the future holds for our new nursery.
Client visit to Greenwood Holland
In April, we embarked on our annual client trip to visit Greenwood Holland, in the heart of the Dutch Tree Valley Business Centre. The clients were accompanied by Managing Director Melanie Asker, Commercial Director Alastair Fairbairn, and Client Support Manager Claire Durwick. The group were shown the extensive operation, as well as touring the local suppliers in the area, with which Greenwood Holland work very closely. One of the clients on the trip, Scofell Landscapes, said “It was such an informative time seeing how everything works, from the logistics to seeing the process of how trees are grafted and then planted. Thank you Greenwood for hosting us and broadening our knowledge of this side of the industry.” At Greenwood, we recognise and reward our client loyalty with experiences such as the Holland Trip, showcasing the efficiency of our Europe-wide operation.
Greenwood sponsors client relay marathon in aid of Alfie’s Wish
We were delighted to be able to support one of our long-standing clients, DesignScapes Southwest, in their recent charity event, raising money for local organisation Alfie’s Wish. The Charity aims to provide memorable experiences for families of children battling cancer. Ten members of the DesignScapes team each ran a portion of a 26 mile marathon race, completing the event in 3 hours and 51 minutes, raising over £1000 for Alfie’s Wish in the process. We are always looking to support our clients in their charitable endeavours, and happily contributed £500 towards their target, knowing it was going to such a worthy cause. Join us in congratulating the team at DesignScapes Southwest for their efforts!
